World Transplant Games

The IX World Winter Transplant Games:

Congratulations to Canada's three athletes that participated at the Winter World Transplant Games in La Chapelle d'Abondance (France) from January 12-17, 2014.

XIX World Transplant Games
Durban, South Africa recently hosted the 19th World Transplant Games from July 28 to August 4th, the largest organ donation awareness event with over 900 transplant recipients, ages 4 to 80 years, from over 50 countries. Athletes competed in various Olympic-style sporting events while 900 supporters cheered them on. 
Team Canada had 73 participants, including 37 accompanying persons and 36 recipient-athletes who received 14 gold, 21 silver and 15 bronze medals.
